Marketing approval gives the artist rights over how they are presented in promotional campaigns, press releases, advertising, tour materials, and social content created by the label. It ensures the label's promotional strategy aligns with the artist's brand and does not use imagery or messaging the artist rejects.
A label's marketing team may not understand or respect the artist's aesthetic and messaging. Campaigns that misrepresent the artist's brand can undo years of careful positioning.
